History of the Almaty Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) as a territorial subdivision is inseparably connected with Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. History of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan starts from 1959, when it was first established under the name of “Chamber of Commerce of Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic (KazSSR)”.

On May 3, 2005 a new law was adopted – Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Chambers of Commerce and Industry”, and with its adoption Chambers of commerce and industry of Kazakhstan got their separate institutional and legal form as a non-profit non-governmental organization. According to this Law, “Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Almaty City” was re-established, replacing the “Almaty Chamber of Commerce and Industry” which had existed previously.

The establishment of Almaty Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) was initiated by 15 founding institutions which represent different fields of activity of local business.

ACCI is a part of a common system of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CCIs of RK), and its activity is supervised by the ACCI Presidium.

ACCI was established for promotion of the development of economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, integrating it in the world economic system, formation of modern industrial and commercial infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for private enterprise.
